Privacy Policy
Last updated: 22 October 2026
1. Who we are and the short version
Adaptive Cogito LLC ("we", "us", "our") provides the Ancient Cities: Egypt game (the "Game") for Android, iOS and desktop. This policy explains what happens with data when you play it.
- The Game has no account, no sign-in and no server of ours. It works fully offline.
- We do not collect, receive, store or sell any of your personal data.
- The Game contains no ads, no analytics, no crash reporting and no tracking, and it does not access your location, contacts, camera, microphone or photos.
- Your saved games, progress and settings stay on your device.
- The only online contact is with the store (Google Play or the Apple App Store) that sells the one-time unlock of the full game.
2. Data that stays on your device
The Game stores these files in its private storage on your device. They are never sent to us:
- Saved games: the automatic save and the manual save slots, with the state of your city and the time it was saved.
- Progress: which scenarios you have completed.
- Settings: for example the music volume and mute.
- Purchase status: a small file that remembers that the store reported the full game as bought, so that the Game unlocks at once when you start it without a connection.
This data contains no name, email address, device identifier or other information that identifies you. Deleting the Game, or clearing its data in the system settings, removes it.
3. Purchases and the store
The full game is unlocked with a one-time in-app purchase on the mobile versions. The purchase is made, paid and recorded entirely by Google Play or the Apple App Store, under the terms and the privacy policy of that store. We do not receive your name, payment details or store account.
- When the Game starts and when it returns to the foreground, it asks the store, through the store software on your device, whether the store account signed in on the device owns the full game, and what the price is in your currency. The store answers the Game on your device; the answer is not passed on to us.
- The "Restore purchase" button asks the store the same question.
- Google Play (Google LLC) and the App Store (Apple Inc.) process data about you and your purchases as independent controllers: see their privacy policies.
The desktop version has no purchase and makes no store contact.
4. Device permissions
The Game asks for no special permission. It needs no access to your files, photos, contacts, location, camera, microphone or notifications. The Android version declares only the network access that the Google Play billing component uses to talk to the store.
5. Backups
Android and iOS may include the Game's files in the backup of your device (for example Google backup or iCloud backup), depending on your system settings. That backup is made and stored by Google or Apple under their terms, not by us. You can switch it off in your system settings.
6. Sharing and international transfers
Because we receive no personal data, we have nothing to share, sell or transfer, and we do not send data of the Game to any third party. The stores mentioned above may process data in other countries as described in their own policies.
7. How long we keep your data
We keep nothing, as we do not receive anything. The files described in section 2 stay on your device until you delete them, uninstall the Game or clear its data.
8. Your rights and deleting your data
Since we hold no personal data about you, there is nothing for us to access, correct or delete. You are in control of everything the Game stores:
- to delete your saved games, delete the save slot in the Game, or uninstall the Game, or clear its data in the system settings;
- to review or delete data held by the store (purchases, order history), use your Google or Apple account settings and the store's own privacy tools.
Depending on where you live you may have rights under laws such as the GDPR, the UK GDPR or the CCPA over data that an organisation holds about you. If you believe we hold data about you, contact us and we will answer. You can also complain to your local data protection authority.
9. Security
The Game stores its files in its private storage area, which other apps cannot read under normal system conditions. All communication with the store goes through the official store software of your platform. No system is completely secure, so we cannot guarantee absolute security.
10. Children
The Game is a city-building game with no chat, no social features, no ads and no data collection. It is not directed at children under 13 as a specific audience, and we do not knowingly collect personal data from anyone, including children. Purchases require a store account, and the rules of the store (for example parental controls and Ask to Buy) apply.
11. Changes to this policy
We may update this policy when the Game or the law changes, for example if a future version adds a feature that uses data, such as cloud saves. The date at the top shows when it was last updated, and the current version is always available on this website. If a change is material we will tell you in the Game or in the store listing before it takes effect.
12. Contact
For any question about this policy or your data, contact Adaptive Cogito LLC using the support contact shown on this website and on the Game's store page.
